However, as the years passed, the building fell into disuse until Consensus Capital recognised its potential for revitalisation. Through careful planning and collaboration with Places for People, Craigievar House has been reborn as a beacon of affordable housing, offering residents a blend of modern comfort and historic charm.

Former Use


Craigievar House's transformation from a redundant office space to a vibrant residential community is a testament to the power of visionary redevelopment. Once the regional office of Blackwood Homes, this building stood as a testament to Dr. Margaret Blackwood's commitment to social justice.

However, as the needs of the community evolved, the building fell into disuse until Consensus Capital stepped in with a proposal for its redesign and reuse. With consent granted for its conversion and extension, Craigievar House now provides 44 affordable residential apartments, honoring its legacy while meeting the housing needs of Edinburgh's residents.
